Trigger Point Therapy
Are you looking for Trigger Point Therapy in the Enumclaw area?
Trigger Point Therapy is somewhat self-explanatory: a manual, pointed pressure, sometimes with vibration, is applied to a point in a tight, painful muscle until it begins to release. If you have ever pressed on a spot that was very tight on yourself and thought, “That’s it, that’s right where it hurts,” then you understand. The tight, painful spot is a muscle knot (a muscle which has become “stuck” in a spasm) and can be greatly eased with this technique. There can be temporary pain while undergoing this type of treatment (or not), but it does release the knotted muscle. Again, it is important to drink water afterward in order that the toxins may flush out of your system. Trigger Point Therapy was developed by Janet G. Travell, MD, who was President John F. Kennedy’s personal White House physician.
Call Mike Gibbons, LMT, at (360) 259-2895 to discuss including this technique into your massage therapy treatment.
